Two Wheels for Life

A charity supporting Riders for Health

In 2016 the charity Two Wheels for Life was formed in the UK by Riders for Health’s founders in order to support the organisation in terms of stability and growth.

An African social enterprise, Riders for Health is moving towards financial sustainability. But creating the financial conditions to continually improve and grow the organisation as well as cover unexpected eventualities is a struggle in challenging economies such as those in many sub Saharan African countries. Issues such as delays in payments from governments due poor government cash flow and fluctuating exchange rate are amongst the factors that affect the organisation financially.

Two Wheels for Life raises funds and builds networks to provide stability for Riders for Health. The charity covers some of the costs that client fees can’t stretch to, including funding growth of the organisation in areas such as technological upgrades, ongoing training, expansion to new regions and the impact of unexpected disasters such as wars, famine or storms. The organisation also funds vehicles, accessories, protective clothing and other essentail items when programmes are struggling, but always with a long term goal of creating sustainability.

The strategic partnership between Two Wheels for Life and Riders for Health exemplifies a forward thinking approach to the economic challenges faced by African organisations working to overcome healthcare delivery challenges across Africa. The approach allows for much needed support while maintaining African leadership of the Riders for Health country programmes.

Two Wheels works with key people and organisations in the motorcycle industry to build sustainable funding, support and awareness for Riders for Health.
