Lesotho is one of Africa’s smallest countries but one of the most challenging in terms of the demand for healthcare. Many live in remote and sparsely populated areas and the landscape is exceptionally mountainous.
The services we provide to the Ministry of Health and other organisations ensure preventative treatments, pre and ante-natal care and health-care support are available to everybody in the country, no matter how hard to reach.
Lesotho has one of the worst infection rates of HIV infection in the world. We ensure that samples for HIV and other conditions are delivered to the testing laboratory quickly and the results returned promptly. Riders for Health’s first sample transport system was established in Lesotho. Now, ten years later, almost all test results nationwide are turned around within three days.
